The Director of New Product Incubation, Corporate Research and Technology, drives and directs the efforts/initiatives and teams to mate an externally acquired ideas or technologies with unmet customer needs to create innovations.  The incubation process will also include the creation of a Risk Adjusted NPV for each innovation and finally, based on the attractiveness of this RANPV, further assessment work is accomplished to refine the technology to a point where the innovations are ready for execution level product development initiation.  The incumbent will lead multiple interdisciplinary incubation projects simultaneously.  This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer.

·         Through strong and consistent leadership, the incumbent will create cross-functional teams blending Corporate Research and Technology personnel with assigned resources from the various business units to perform the New Product Incubation activities. 

·         The incumbent will own the New Product Incubation Process and will continually assess and improve it.

·         The incumbent will become an expert and a trainer in Outcome Driven Innovation concepts that will ensure the complete understanding of unmet customer needs and will train and work with cross functional teams to ascertain these needs as part of the innovation incubation process.
