The Director provides leadership, direction, coordination and support for the EA Division of Nursing in collaboration with individual schools of nursing initiatives to provide faculty with the skills, understanding, and resources to provide evidenced based curriculum and instruction.
The Director reports directly to the Vice President for Nursing.
The Director of Nursing Faculty Development is a key advocate for empowering faculty to incorporate evidenced based concepts including the use of technology into their classroom teaching and clinical instruction.
The Director will develop and assist as necessary with implementing faculty training on-site at each school location for nursing faculty, and will assure in collaboration with the local nursing Director/Dean that each nursing faculty member has an annual written Faculty Development plan as required by accreditation standards.
The Director of Nursing Faculty Development will combine faculty development with EA other faculty initiatives and ongoing training. Duties in addition to those previously describe will include:
1) assessing needs and recommending appropriate programs and tools
2) developing with Human Resources employee orientation, training and evaluation programs
3) promoting the use of evidenced based concepts and information technology in the classroom and clinical sites
4) working directly other EA division to offer workshops and relevant courses
5) communicating staff development opportunities EA wide
6) developing and managing formal awards and recognition programs for faculty.
The Director maintains awareness of the current business, education and regulatory environment by a participating in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
This position requires approximately 60% travel.
Required:
-MSN degree with 3 years of experience as director of nursing faculty development or similar position
-Knowledgeable of evidenced based practice concepts, experience with online course development and implementation
Preferred:
-PhD, DNP, or other health related doctoral degree as well as MSN with experience with faculty development or similar position
