A Western New York leader in healthcare is seeking a dynamic results driven individual who has vision, insight, and is a proven problem solver for the Director of Nursing to lead the organization’s flagship emergency services program. 

As Director of Nursing, Emergency Medicine, this person will demonstrate strong leadership skills, overseeing the nursing services operations, uphold compliance standards for Joint Commission/NYSDOH, ensure the proper utilization of resources, refine quality of care and improve relationships with patients, physicians and the community.

This position also entails overseeing the development of programs, policies, and protocols relevant to the emergency patient population that are integrated across the organization to ensure that system-wide mission, values, and financial objectives are met. 

Candidates shall be considered based on education, professional accomplishments, personal qualities and cultural fit.  Minimum qualifications for this position are:

·         Master’s Degree in healthcare or related field;

·         7 years of progressive leadership experience in Emergency Nursing management;

·         Experience managing budget/financial systems;

·         Skilled in quality improvement;

·         Knowledgeable regarding regulatory and accrediting agency standards;

·         Current NYS registration as a Registered Nurse;

·         Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN) required or attained within 2 years;

·         Certification in Nursing Administration preferred;

·         ACLS required;

·         Human Resource experience;

·         Strong leadership skills;

·         Strong initiative and sense of responsibility;

·         Proficiency in communicating, both oral and written;

·         Proven negotiation skills;

·         Ability to work as part of a strategic team;

·         Absolute uncompromising integrity and work ethic.
