· Responsible for financial viability, operational effectiveness and efficiency, quality improvement strategies and cycles, human and technological resource management and operational cohesiveness with other divisions. · Responsible for performance improvement, customer service, effective teamwork, financial outcomes and performance metrics. · Accountable for department's annual and longer-term fiscal planning and performance against budgets, capital allocations, savings and revenue goals. · Translates Genesys strategies and critical success factors into action plans supported through objective measures in collaboration with Managers and Directors of other department. · Monitors performance of management and staff against actions plans and objectives and offers support and corrective interventions when deviations occur. · Nurtures relationships and prevents troubled relationships with third party vendors, residents and physician leadership. · Develops project plans to add/delete service that add to operating margin, improved resident outcomes, operating efficiency and reduction in risk. · Provides leadership and direction to all staff through rounding, role modeling, mentoring, team building, and one on one coaching. · Fosters an environment of empowerment and innovation among Managers and Directors of other departments/divisions. · Embraces change and assists all staff in understanding and acceptance of change. · Accountable for department's operations performance against best practices, Ascension dashboard requirements, process improvement metrics, external data reporting requirements, and reimbursement standards. · Responsible for ongoing interface and frequent communication with physicians, residents, families, visitors, staff, third party providers and management team.
Minimum Qualifications: · Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (Associate, Bachelors or Diploma) and current licensure by the State Board of Nursing in the State of Michigan. · Minimum of 3 years of long term care nursing experience. Minimum of 3 year of progressive management experience. Experienced in dealing with administrative / departmental issues. · Ability to work cooperatively with physicians, residents, families and other staff members. · Working knowledge of state, federal and accrediting agencies rules, regulations and standards typical for a nursing home. · Possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to demonstrate the principles of participative management. Must have good work habits and the ability to demonstrate same to assigned personnel and co-workers. · Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, full-time equivalents, expenditures and ratios. · Ability to read, analyze and interpret common nursing and regulatory journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond appropriately to inquiries and complaints from residents, families, employees, physicians, regulatory agencies and members of the community. Ability to effectively present information. · Computer literate with basic programs.
