The Director of Nursing, RN is accountable and responsible for planning, directing and evaluating activities of the nursing department, including implementation of the department's philosophy and goals, standards for nursing practice and the management and development of nursing personnel.  Provides leadership and direction in all nursing matters and patient care issues.  Acts as JCAHO liaison.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Quality improvement experience and thorough knowledge of JCAHO standards.  Experience in data retrieval, statistics, forms design, and quality improvement techniques.  Ability to work independently and provide education and resources to the organization.

Education and Experience:

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of five years clinical nursing experience and three years in a supervisory capacity, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Current RN licensure in NY State, Infection Control Certificate and CPR Certification.
