Position Supervises:
The center's Administrator and in the absence of the center's Administrator the clinical and business manager.
Position Description:
The Director is an employee of Surgical Care Affiliates with an office in one of the regional facilities. The Director is responsible for the duties as outlined below, in addition to any additional projects as required in the region.
- Assists administrators in development of budgets.
- Reviews monthly financial reports, analyze trends, follows up on variances and develop corrective action plans.
- Monitor and attain established benchmarks in the salaries, supply cost, accounts receivable and margins and budget.
- Assess and monitor staffing patterns to ensure efficient and cost effective utilization of personnel.
- Interviews, hires and orients new center Administrators.
- Performance appraisals of Facility Administrators.
- Assist in providing training, supervision and assistance to Facility Administrators in day to day operational issues.
- Assess and ensure the highest quality of care and standards are met.
- Develop proactive plan to maintain physician relationships.
- Attends Medical Executive Committee/Governing Body and Partnership meetings.
- Visits surgery centers on regular intervals.
- Accomplishes annual objectives and goals.
- Organizes available resources within the area to meet area goals and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Supports accreditation and positions non accredited centers for future accreditation.
- Operates within compliance of federal and state rules and regulations.
- Assess morale at each facility to ensure a positive climate of team work.
- Support in payor contracting.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by Senior Vice President or President.
Total education, vocational training and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Masters preferred.
- Graduate of a healthcare degree program or a minimum of four years management experience in healthcare.
- Must be experienced in working with various levels of employees.
- Experience in working with physicians, patients, and various clinical staff desirable.
- Knowledge of management principles, including human resources, budget planning, and monitoring and customer service.
- Works independently

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; Ability to communicate initiative and accomplishments.
- Ability to perform while under stress.
- Ability to document accurately and concisely.
- Must possess tact and diplomacy.
- Computer Skills.
- Must possess visual and auditory acuity to communicate with employees, patients and other customer groups. Manual dexterity needed. May require assisting staff with occasional lifting or positioning of patients.
