Assistant Director of Outpatient Pharmacy

World-class academic medical center in the heart of Boston is looking for an Assistant Director of Pharmacy for its new outpatient pharmacy. The medical school has invested a great deal in the hospital to include this brand new outpatient pharmacy. The medical center includes a full service adult facility and one of Boston’s world renown Children’s Hospitals. Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy Services, the Assistant Director will have oversight of staff and day-to-day operations of our two outpatient pharmacies. Responsibilities will include financial performance of the outpatient services against budget, maintaining service levels and patient satisfaction in services provided, and ensuring compliance with State and federal laws and regulations. Will also be responsible for the growth of the outpatient services through collaboration with medical staff and coordination of new services to be created in support of key patient populations. 

The qualified candidate must be a licensed Pharmacist in MA with outpatient/retail pharmacy experience.  Minimum of 5 years managerial experience required, with prior P&L responsibilities in an operation of a similar size and complexity. Experience in developing pharmacy services in support of clinic and ambulatory patient population coupled with experience in an academic medical center is strongly preferred. Knowledge of PBM contract negotiations and or plan development is strongly preferred.

Pharmacy B.S. or PharmD required.

Schedule is full time days, ideally 8AM-4:30PM Monday-Friday.

Compensation includes highest pay amongst Boston’s hospitals and comprehensive benefits that includes vacation, holiday, personal and sick time of almost 8 weeks per year.
