Position Overview:  

The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for all operations including establishing and maintaining policies and procedures, formulary updates, procuring medications and maintaining compliance with accreditation and certification requirements and state and federal laws.

Responsibilities:  

• Supervises pharmacy personnel. Recruits, promotes, disciplines and terminates pharmacy staff

• Develops and implements a strategic plan for the pharmacy that supports the mission and goals of the organization

• Develops and maintains a medical staff approved formulary.

• Ensures safe and cost effective drug therapies and clinical programs for patients according to established policies, procedures and protocols.

• Provides for the educational needs of healthcare professionals and patients

• Prepares work schedules and monitors workload statistics. Maintains an appropriate staffing level.

• Reviews monthly financial statistics and plans expenditures within budget guidelines

·        Develops collaborative and productive relationships with physicians, hospital management and other hospital staff.

Requirements:

• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work with team members required.

• Must have hospital pharmacy management experience

• Pharmacy license in good standing
