Fauquier Hospital is seeking a Director of Physician Services.  Responsible for overall day-to-day management of physician practice operations; development and adherence to budgets, all matters of personnel management, and effective communication with peers, staff, physicians, and senior management.  Director is also required to continually seek process improvements for enhanced efficiency and productivity in support of the organization.  Is knowledgeable of, and ensures compliance with, all relevant regulatory and accreditation standards; develops and maintains departmental and organizational policies and procedures in support of these standards and other organizational initiatives. 

Specific responsibilities for this role include:

• Proactive collection and analysis of data on the external environment (community, regulatory, physician, managed care, along with competitor and market trends)
• Development and implementation of strategies to attract and retain physicians in the identified service lines
• Oversight of identification and acquisition of resources for Physician practices including office space, equipment, and other resources necessary to the practice
• Oversight of  recruitment of Physician services to achieve strategic goals
• Identification and implementation of appropriate mechanisms to secure physician engagement in achieving goals
• Serve as a system resource regarding physician/hospital partnerships and Stark Law regulations
• Implementation of physician liaison activities
• Handle requests for manpower needs assessments to recruit physicians to ensure adequate manpower to meet service line goals
• Measurement of performance and report results including budget and capital expenses
• Collaboration with Finance to identify Return on Investment on specific projects as they relate to cost, quality, service, time and growth goals
• Recommendation and adaptation of plans to address performance issues, when appropriate
• Direct contact and reporting responsibility to the Board  

Requirements: 

 The successful candidate must have the following skills/experience:

• Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Mgmt - MBA or MS in Healthcare Administration/Management preferred. 
• Strategic experience in leading departments - in a healthcare setting.
• At least Seven years of related professional experience in Finance as it relates to Healthcare, Healthcare Sales or Business Development in Healthcare.
• Extensive experience in Business Development as it relates to Healthcare
• Requires knowledge of the administration of a department and the ability to effectively deal with patients, doctors, and/or personnel
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.  

High level of proficiency utilizing computers.
