About the Job
As the Director of Product Marketing you will be part of Micron’s Display Business, one of the new Micron businesses that are organized under the Silicon and Systems Group (SSG). SSG is an organization within Micron Technology chartered with delivering system level solutions by offering to the market non-standard memory based products and other silicon based products. In this position, you will be expected to lead the SSG Display Business product marketing team.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Becoming a recognized expert and evangelist in the emerging market of pico-projectors. This will require being closely connected with display industry analysts and thought leaders.
- Developing and articulating a vision of current and potential market applications for Personal Projection Displays.
- Participating in the creation and communication of Micron’s Display Business Strategy.
- Display Product Planning Process including:
- Leading the product marketing team in gathering world-wide customer wants and needs for personal projection displays and ensuring the creation of roadmaps and Market Requirement Documents that map customer requirements into personal projector and projector engine product requirements.
- Working with the other teams in the Display business, create a complete plan that supports the product roadmaps implementation and delivery of product to customers. The plan should cover each product from cradle to grave.
- Establish the business case that supports investment in the product roadmap.
- Manage the creation of a go-to-market plan and the execution the plan.
- Leading activities that will both result in furthering our understanding of the personal projection display customer use models. Communicating this information to our customers, the market, display analysts and thought leaders with the intention of accelerating the development of the emerging personal projection market and positioning Micron as the leader in Personal Projection Displays.
- Managing the Product Marketing staff establishing clear job responsibilities and goals. Providing each team member with stretch goals that will lead to them expanding their career opportunities and increase their value to Micron.
- Defining market segments and the market addressable in each selected segment.
- Assessing the value chain and competitive landscape.
- Evaluating partnerships and partners that are required to successfully take product to market.
- Developing pricing strategies.
- Managing customer pipeline status.
- Alignment of display marketing efforts to SSG strategy and goals.
Successful candidates for this position will have:
- 10+ years experience in product delivering products to the market.
- Experience in display /computing/consumer markets is a plus.
- A solid understanding of the computing/consumer/energy/security markets and players
- A proven track record of developing/leading marketing teams for a diverse product portfolio
- Existing relationships at computing/consumer/security/energy players a plus.
- A solid understanding of fundamental marketing principles.
- A proven track record of delivering results in a dynamic environment.
- Proven leadership skills and a track record of working across organizations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education:
BS/BA degree in a related field
