The iContact product is the leading email marketing platform used by over 50,000 companies worldwide ranging from small businesses to blue chip clients.
iContact was named one of the Best Places to Work in the Triangle by the Triangle Business Journal in 2007, 2008, and 2009. This position will be based in the Durham/Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina.
The company is seeking a Director of Product Marketing to join the marketing team and work closely with the CMO and Product Marketing Managers to maximize the effectiveness of our marketing efforts in the creation of external facing content and the promotion of new features, product launches, and capabilities via current and new channels.
The Responsibilities:
• Lead and mentor team to maximize productivity, efficiency and engagement of the team as a whole. Minimize roadblocks and maximize opportunities to keep all members of the team productive, engaged, and fulfilled in their roles.
• Working closely with Product Manager to create content for and plan and execute marketing campaigns for upcoming feature and product releases through current and new marketing channels.
Working with CMO, VP of Marketing, Product Manager, Director of Communications, and Director of Sales to plan and execute programs to increase leads and conversions.
• Coordinating with Trade show manager to market new features and releases at upcoming trade shows where applicable.
• Participating in and helping to determine brand and product messaging strategy, determine and communicating differentiation
• Work with advertising agencies to formulate content and messaging on campaigns
• Working with designer to plan needed designs for marketing campaigns/efforts associated with features and new product releases.
• Product launch planning and execution
• Copywriting for and input into structure/content on web site
• Working closely with VP of Marketing, Director of Sales, and Manager of BD to create content for the marketing of iContact Enterprise and additional services through iContact’s various marketing channels and sales feature sheets, demos, and sales presentations to assist iContact sales reps
• Creation and development of customer success stories, whitepapers, collateral
• Working closely to review creation and management of support resources including product videos and knowledge base
• Owns, manages and updates library of all market-facing materials.
• Developing materials for Sales/Marketing/Support to ensure consistency in messaging for iContact’s features, responses for common questions from potential customers, and provides clear/up-to-date information on iContact’s competitors for use in Sales and additional communications with customers.
• Creating messaging for Upsell, cross-sell, and retention activities including customer lifecycle follow-up messaging
• with team members to make good trade-offs and deliver features that meet requirements
Strong candidate will have many of the following:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field
• 5+ years experience in a director level Marketing role
• 5+ years experience as a Product Marketing Manager
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analysis skills
• Strong skills with MS Office/Powerpoint
• Project management experience
• Motivated/Self-starter
• Excellent time-management skills
• Excellent copywriting skills
• Sense of humor is a must
• Demonstrated experience launching and managing successful products
• Demonstrated experience in developing professional market-facing materials (PowerPoint presentations, collateral, sales tools, product demonstrations, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience in developing messaging platforms and executing consistent messages throughout market-facing materials
• MBA seen as a plus but not required
