My client, a global plastic packaging company, is looking for someone to head up their global research and development effort. The company manufactures products that use some of the following processes: blow molding, injection molding, extrusion and thermoforming. The Director of Global R&D will oversee global research and development to identify and implement leading edge technologies on their processes. The position will be based in the greater Chicago area.
The Director reports to the company president and has total responsibility for discovering new processes and technology, managing material development and product and equipment design engineering, complying with regulations and protecting intellectual property. He/she will also ensure that customer projects are executed successfully and that product and process improvements are developed and implemented. He/she will also manage his global staff and oversee his budget.
To qualify for this position, you must have at least a BS in Engineering plus 10 or more years of related, hands-on experience in the packaging industry. An MS is highly preferred, and experience in bottles, closures or films is also preferred. You’ll need to demonstrate effective management of a technical department and show good knowledge of plastic materials and processes.
Compensation for the position is based on background and experience and is quite attractive. There is also a bonus, good benefits and a relocation package. If you qualify, please email your resume in WORD to Resumes@JobsAgent.com along with a cover letter explaining your interest and qualifications for the position.
