Director, Planning & Research

 

65% of this role is responsible for leading the General Market research, insights and account

planning, for a nationally known chocolate brand, which primarily includes:


1. Creation of annual brand advertising strategy for implementation across channels in.

partnership with a multi-agency team.

2. Ongoing POVs on emerging consumer trends across media within the category and

CPG industry.

3. Business building insights for long term brand growth and positioning (in 3-5 year

strategy plans).

 

Responsibilities

Collaborates with Account/Creative team to deliver brand positioning and creative

strategy.

Partners with Client on all qualitative and quantitative consumer research.

 

Synthesizes and interprets information, communicate actionable insights, and

develop plans and recommendations.

 

Strategically defends Agency POV on research insights.

 

Develops brand strategy and creative brief.

 

Partners with external researchers to design and develop studies offering insight into

specific brand-relevant target groups.

 

Routine assessment of quantitative brand health reports; category, consumer, and

media relevant articles, white papers, and public reports.

35% of this role will be responsible for the research and insights delivery behind Multi-Cultural

and new business client needs.

 

Requirements
Experience Working in an Advertising Agency strongly desired.


Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Anthropology, Marketing, or other related field.

 

10 + years’ experience in an advertising, marketing agency or consumer marketing

communications environment.

 

Intellectually curious; a catalyst for innovative solutions-based thinking; self starter;

team player.

 

Knowledge of CPG industry practices and measures (e.g. brand archetypes,

IRI/Nielsen data).

 

Familiarity with cross and multi-cultural trends.

 

Experience with brand strategy, integration and brand voice development and

oversight.

 

Strong comfort level speaking to audiences and presenting materials and findings.

 

Exceptional Powerpoint/Keynote presentation skills and design.
