The Director of Residential Services reporting to the Senior Director and the Executive Director will be responsible for the residential department. This position is directly responsible for the overall operation of the department and the personnel management of residential.
The Director of Residential Services is responsible for assisting in the implementation of the organization’s behavior management guidelines and running all facilities in a manner that meets Massachusetts regulatory standards.
The individual must be able to interface with state licensing personnel. The employee must have the capability to juggle multiple tasks including operations, the oversight of IEP implementation, managing 60+ staff, implementing behavioral services and health systems. The optimal candidate will possess senior management skills, the ability to attend to numerous details and understand multiple regulatory standards. The position will require flexible hours.
The position requires this employee to have skills in working with children and young adults who exhibit complex and severe behavior disorders. The employee must have experience working with students who have a history of failed placements. This individual must be willing to work directly with students who display intense aggressive and self- injurious behaviors. This individual must have the training in behavior management and be knowledgeable of Applied Behavior Analysis. This individual must have the direct training and experience in implementing functional analysis strategies and design programs based on data.
This position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks, at times under significant stress. The employee must be flexible with schedule and immediate availability. Sophisticated skills are required in Human Resources, Budget Management, Educational and Clinical Systems and Massachusetts regulatory standards.
The position requires the individual to adhere to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board Guidelines for Responsible Conduct for Behavior Analysts and to the Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct (2002).
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS: Master’s level in Behavior Education or Applied Behavior Analysis or Education or Psychology; Board Certification for Behavior Analyst at Master’s level or eligible for certification.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5-7 years of senior management and staff supervision in an applied community setting and in implementing behavioral procedures for individuals with challenging behaviors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work with children and young adults with behavior disorders.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Valid driver’s license and current certification in physical restraint training, first aid and CPR.
