Director of Sales Training & Development

About the Job

Furnitureland South, Inc., “The world’s largest home furnishings showplace,” is currently seeking a Director of Sales Training & Development.  This new position, located in Jamestown, NC, will be responsible for the development, design, implementation and oversight of all sales training and development initiatives ensuring alignment with business objectives.


  


Responsibilities:


- Collaborates with management and subject matter experts to identify skill gaps, training opportunities, and develops/deploys appropriate training remedies.


- Develops structure and processes to design and deliver training programs to meet the needs of the organization.


- Drives ongoing learning needs analysis, design, scripting, development, assessment, implementation and evaluation of training materials to ensure alignment with business strategy.


- Provides overall direction for strategic learning and development.


- Conducts needs assessments and directs and implements training programs for sales. 


- Monitors training initiatives to ensure they result in desired performance enhancements and increase operational efficiencies. Measures effectiveness of training processes and ensures standardization of training processes.


- Researches and determines the most effective internal and/or external training venues to engage to bring about desired results in an efficient, timely, cost effective manner.


 


Required Qualifications: 


- Bachelor’s degree – preferably in Organizational Development, Human Resources or a related field of study


- 5+ years of experience in organizational development/curriculum development and delivery is required


- Demonstrated, strong knowledge of training systems management, strategic planning, needs assessment, measurement and cost benefit analysis is required


- Strong facilitation and platform skills


- Proven ability to understand business strategy; and translate it into learning solutions that support the company’s business goals


- Strong project management, influencing, negotiation and consulting skills


- Demonstrated creative, practical problem solving skills


- Excellent written and verbal communication skills


- Effective interpersonal, influencing and teamwork skills
