Job Title: Director, Software Development
Reports To: Vice President, Technology


Position Overview
The Director of Software Development is a key member of the company responsible for the creation and maintenance of WebVisible’s core products. WebVisible is a key player in the on-line marketing space, building applications that link small to medium sized companies with a wealth of advertising and search opportunities on the Internet. These applications are mission critical applications that drive revenue for the company and are critical to the overall success of the enterprise. This is a technical leadership position for a key area of the business. It is a management position that requires a high degree of relevant and current technical knowledge and experience.


Requirements & Experience
• 8+ years experience in software development.
• 8+ years developing products for Microsoft Windows and/or web-based applications.
• 4+ years managing and leading software development teams.
• 4+ years in developing on .NET and JAVA platforms
• Experience building and maintaining application software products that drive revenue for an organization.
• Experience leading three key components of software development; Software Development, Quality Assurance, and Product Design
• Experience using and monitoring the use of a formal software development lifecycle.
• Project management experience.
• Experience with on-line search marketing and advertising a plus.
• Excellent overall communication skills.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
• Masters degree a plus.

Position Responsibilities
• Management
o Day to day leadership and management of three key functional areas: Software Development, Quality Assurance, and Product Design.
o Provide technical leadership and guidance to the Software Development Team, including driving the high level product architecture, enforcing coding standards, reviewing code, and attending code reviews.
o Continually drive quality, efficiency, and timeliness into the delivery of products.
o Work collaboratively with cross functional team members.
o Partner with the Product Team to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
o Nurture a healthy working environment that focuses on delivering high quality products on time.

• Planning and Assessing
o Enhance the overall requirements gathering process and work with other functional groups to ensure that the products meet customer and company needs.
o Manage, maintain, and enhance the software development methodologies and processes.
o Plan and manage resources and resource leveling across projects.

• Strategy and Vision
o Develop and drive the technical strategy.
o Provide the Technical vision to the software developers.
o Take direction and guidance from the Vice President of Technology on building products that fulfill the overall product roadmap and drive revenue for the company.
