We are seeking a Director of Strategic Business Development.

Position Description


Primary responsibilities include identifying M&A opportunities linked to our company growth strategy, working with strategic marketing and corporate Business Development to define our growth strategy, managing the idea phase process, and creating business development recommendations and executing against agreed upon decisions.



Responsible for building and managing the M&A funnel and linking the targets to the growth plans; responsible for effectively working with MPT and corporate Business Development for executing on M&A funnel. Responsible for managing and overseeing Automation's idea funnel and evaluation process. Responsible for senior executive presentations with ability to articulate vision and recommended business development activities and gain agreement on direction. Responsible for staying abreast of industry trends and working with strategic marketing to understand and maintain market data. Establish and maintain relationships with outside vendors and inventors as a source of research and market information. Effectively uses other resources in the company in strategic development, including marketing, R&D, MPT strategy, corporate business development, sales, and others as needed. Evaluates competitor strategy for possible impact on Automation's strategy. 20%-30% travel on a national basis with some possible limited international travel.

Minimum Requirements


Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Information Systems, or related discipline. MBA preferred. 7+ years business experience. Ability to travel 20-30% of work schedule on a national or international basis.



Experience in strategic planning, strategic marketing, or business development required. Experience with financial analysis related to project justifications, M&A analysis, pro formas for new business opportunities, or other related activities. Strong ability to work across groups and business units to identify opportunities and gain agreement on shared priorities. Strong written and verbal communication and demonstrated ability to articulate a vision to senior levels and gain agreement on strategy. Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated process improvement and management abilities, particularly around idea evaluations and management. Demonstrated self-starter with strategic focus. Strong ability to work with multiple teams.
