Director of Strategic Marketing - Sage Timberline and Sage Master Builder Software
Sage Construction and Real Estate (CRE) has and immediate opening for a Director of Strategic Marketing supporting Sage Timberline and Sage Master Builder. The candidate in this position is responsible for identifying market opportunities and developing and implementing strategic initiatives designed to generate revenue growth through market share improvement and installed base customer development. This is a high-visibility opportunity for a person with proven general marketing, strategic, analytical, leadership, and business management skills. The Director of Strategic Marketing is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing growth across Sage CRE’s portfolio of existing and new product lines. This position is accountable for product positioning, pricing, market segmentation, strategic and financial planning, and performance reporting. This position will manage and develop two direct reports, Product Marketing Managers, who have responsibility for the day-to-day execution of product marketing initiatives. In addition, the Director will work closely with CRE personnel in Marketing and Marketing Services, Sales, Product Management, Public Relations, Business Intelligence, Support, and Finance to manage cross-functional programs and drive new strategic initiatives. Specific Duties Include: Work with Marketing, Marketing Services, and your own Product Marketing staff to ensure appropriate, timely, and effective programs are developed and implemented to drive new customer and installed base revenue and achieve/exceed annual operating goals. - Work with Sales management to help that organization develop and execute channel partner performance improvement initiatives tied to marketing strategies.
- Work with Product Management to optimize product line positioning for existing and new product and services in the CRE portfolio.
- Work with Sage Business Solutions (SBS – the division in which Sage CRE operates) corporate staff: Marketing Research program design, fielding, and reporting; strategic improvement of Public Relations effectiveness; with Business Intelligence to conduct market segmentation and customer analysis.
- Represent CRE in several SBS cross-business unit strategic planning groups which foster knowledge sharing, common market perspective, and the transfer of best practices.
- Manage CRE industry trade show and event activities.
- Own the industry intelligence function for target market trends and competitive performance tracking and analysis.
- Participate in the development of the annual plan and periodic financial forecasts with Finance and other CRE department managers to ensure alignment of goals, strategies, and programs.
- Ten or more years experience required in brand management and/or small to mid-size business product/service marketing.
- Four-year degree (BA/BS) and MBA required.
- The qualified candidate will have demonstrated success in the following strategic marketing disciplines: product/service positioning, pricing, customer segmentation, competitive strategy, marketing research, marketing program design, and marketing communication.
- The ideal candidate will have B2B experience; direct marketing, brand advertising, and Web marketing knowledge; expertise developing/implementing marketing programs; experience with trade show and event marketing to develop industry leadership credibility; and familiarity with an indirect sales channel model.
- The candidate must be strong analytically (business model building, synthesize diverse market data, etc.); have a keen strategic and general marketing perspective; have excellent written and oral communication skills; and the demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally.
