Director of Supply Chain Management

We are looking for a supply chain professional to leverage a significant corporate spend that spans across multiple manufacturing facilities. Position Summary
You will be responsible for leading all domestic and some international purchasing including raw materials, finished goods, transportation and packaging. You will provide support, direction and leadership to a staff and take responsibility for overall supply chain management of the company. This position will report to the Vice President of Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Works closely with the marketing, operations and regulatory / quality departments in the development, production and launching of new products.
· Interacts with Sergeant’s production facilities and operations staff to ensure they are able to produce products efficiently and in a timely manner.
· Develops partnerships with suppliers and ensure that they are capable of delivering the required services.
· Oversees management of multiple contract manufacturers around the country.
· Communicate and resolve supply chain concerns with other departments within the organization.
· Develops and implements strategic improvements to the supply chain.
· Requires the ability to act independently as well as support a team to accomplish critical and timely objectives.
· Develops and provides timely reports to senior management.
· Develop departmental goals, tactics, and objectives to ensure alignment with company strategy, goals and objectives.
· Analyzes supplier manufacturing trends and skill sets.
· Develop staffing plans, identify and hire staff; review and approve direct report objectives, evaluate performance; develop employees through coaching and training.
· Constantly investigate new sources of materials and services to improve products and reduce costs.
· Assist Finance department by providing timely and accurate information and to ensure that variances to the business are identified and understood.
· Monitor and manage inventories to properly support business while keeping overall costs within budgeted guidelines.
· Participate in meetings to stay informed and aware of decisions that with affect the supply chain of the company.
Knowledge and Skills
· 15+ Years Purchasing and Supply Chain Management experience
· Possesses a proven ability to strategically source packaging materials and raw materials for production of finished products.
· You must be able to articulate strong strategic understanding and success in establishing vendor management programs.
· Proven Vendor Management Experience
· MRP system experience and knowledge
· New Product Development Experience
· Inventory Management Experience
· Transportation management experience
· College degree required
· CPM designation preferred
· Solid communication skills
· Corporate-level purchasing experience and a proven ability to source raw materials, components and finished goods both internationally and domestically.
· Documented success in improving vendor management and cost reductions.
· Strong experience in packaging and packaged goods procurement.
· Demonstrated ability to mentor and manage subordinates in a growth environment.
