The Test Preparation Services Division prepares students and parents for higher education with test prep courses and tutoring, and our website and book publishing, which include admissions and financial aid resources. This division offers private tutoring and classroom and online test preparation to help students improve their scores in college and graduate school admissions tests.  The Princeton Review offers classroom courses in 41 states and 21 countries and has a presence in every major city in the United States, as well as in Canada and Puerto Rico.

 

The Princeton Review’s free website, www.PrincetonReview.com, provides college bound students and their parents with the resources to research, apply to, prepare for, and learn how to pay for their higher education.  The Princeton Review also authors more than 200 print and software titles on test preparation, college and graduate school selection and admissions, and related topics.

 

The Supplemental Educational Services Division (SES) partners with school districts to provide after school tutoring programs. SES programs are currently offered in 15 states and 75 districts large and small, including New York, Boston, Miami and Chicago.

 

 

JOB SUMMARY:  Manage tutoring operations within the region by initiating and participating in creative marketing projects to meet the region’s business objectives. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Accountable for the tutoring business—including operations, marketing, and sales.
  2. Collaborate closely with Senior Director of Operations to create systems that encourage growth and to manage profit margins for all classroom as well as tutorial students.
  3. Collaborate with team of 9 FTE to manage daily business operations including handling inbound and outbound service calls and foot traffic, making outbound sales call campaigns, scoring tests, shipping materials, and other tasks as needed.
  4. Collaborate with Senior Director of Marketing to execute tutoring marketing plans and school visits.
  5. Oversee training of tutors and office staff on tutoring procedures and policies.
  6. Oversee and manage Tutor Development including trainings, admin meetings, teacher summits, professional development seminars, etc. 
  7. Manage staff of tutors including overseeing compensation and professional development as well as any performance problems.
  8. Oversee material inventory needs for Tutoring Operations.
  9. Assist with teacher & program quality support plan for private tutoring.
  10. Provide excellent customer service and support for teachers, students and parents.
  11. Respond to customer inquiries, match tutors with students, and ensure a smooth start to all tutorials including delivery of materials.
  12. Oversee tutorials from a customer service perspective to ensure customer satisfaction.  Intervene as necessary to address problems or to add value to the student experience.

Minimum qualifications:

1.      A Bachelor’s Degree.

2.      2-5 years of relevant corporate or academic experience in strategic tutoring operations. Prior experience with private secondary schools and/or with luxury service is a big plus.

3.      Excellent written and verbal communication skills

4.      Exceptional interpersonal skills.

5.      Highly self motivated and results oriented.

6.      Advanced computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access or similar database software).

7.      Ability to multi-task in a high volume fast-paced environment.
