ClinForce is currently seeking a Director of Upstream Process Development for Durham, NC.
Successful candidate will be focused on developing scalable, robust processes that maximize the stability and activity of protein and peptide-based therapeutics. Candidate will work in the Fermentation/Cell Culture group to perform development, characterization and manufacturing tasks that will help to advance Phase I/II programs for recombinant proteins, monoclonal antibodies, peptides and vaccines. Responsibilities include the following:
- Solve expression problems in multiple hosts.
- Develop fermentation strategies and advance projects through Phase I and II.
- Assist with evaluation, development and implementation of new upstream technologies leading to process improvements and efficiency of operation.
- Assist with review of product/process development and manufacturing operations for adaptability with existing facility configuration.
- Develop preliminary schedules along with material/personnel/equipment requirements to allow accurate contract pricing and appropriate performance guarantees.
- Act as an advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems
Education/Degree: Bachelor of Science in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 15 years of technical management experience; a Master's degree with 13 years or a Doctorate degree in a scientific or biochemical engineering area (or equivalent) and at least 8 years related experience and/or training preferred; Additionally, at least 5 years experience serving in a relevant managerial capacity required; Must have knowledge of GMPs and biotechnology-derived product regulations.
