JOB DESCRIPTION Director of Pharmacy REPORTS TO: General Manager QUALIFICATIONS: · Graduate with a at least a BS from an accredited School of Pharmacy · Registered Pharmacist, licensed in the State of California · 3 years experience in Long Term Care Pharmacy helpful · 1 year management in Long Term Care related field helpful RESPONSIBILITIES: · Participates in formulating and administering company policies and developing long range goals and objectives. · Directs and coordinates activities in the department or division for which responsibility is delegated. · Reviews analysis of activities, costs and operations to determine department progress towards stated goals and objectives. · Confers with the General Manager and other administrative personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals and objectives. · Retains existing accounts through constant dialogue with the Directors of Nursing and Administrators at contract facilities. · Manages subordinate supervisors in data processing, staff pharmacists, delivery, packaging and IV. · Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the pharmacy. · Interviews, hires, and oversees the training of all employees in the pharmacy. · Researches and resolves complaints within the pharmacy as directed by GM. · Resolves complaints and concerns from the staff within the pharmacy. · Arranges pharmacy coverage at all times. · Pharmacy QA and record keeping for all statistics needed by operations. · Conduct weekly meetings with department supervisors.
