Dispatch Manager - Transportation

Well established, privately owned and operated transportation company has an opportunity for an experienced Dispatch Manager.  The position is located in Ada, OK.  The basic function of this position is to assist the President and Operation Manager(s) by ensuring smooth and efficient scheduling/fuel delivery functions for the Company.  This position requires a broad working knowledge of standard functions associated with handling customer enquiries, scheduling, product pricing and other driver related issues and the ability to communicate all detail regarding fuel delivery to the President, the Operations Manager(s) and all drivers.

Essential Functions:

·        Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and within budget as determined by company objectives;

·        Schedule dispatchers and drivers maximizing driver productivity and company profitability;

·        Manages “Delivery Track” support with Factor to insure fully operational status on all company vehicles and office locations;

·        Ensure that each driver accurately reports his activities through Delivery Track daily and in a timely manner;

·        Responsible for the accuracy of all Delivery Track reports and the daily audit of these reports;

·        Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel dispatching software, and communication equipment;

·        Excellent communication skills along with strong organizational skills related to maintaining control of details related to the transport and delivery of fuel, product pricing, alternative loading stations etc.;

·        Ability to solve problems related to deliveries, mechanical issues, pricing fluctuations, customer change orders, etc.;

·        Ensure compliance with various government laws, rules and safety regulations.

Experience Desired:

·        Ten (10) years business experience with a for-profit organization with two (2) years experience as a Dispatch Manager for petroleum products preferred;

·        Knowledge of accounting principles and report preparation required;

·        Strong math skills required to compute business math formulas, check job tickets and invoices for accuracy;

·        Proven achievement in scheduling, monitoring and developing on time and profitable transportation objectives;

·        Verifiable experience maintaining and increasing profitable, serviceable customer base;

·        Verifiable leadership accomplishments regarding human capital management and profitable/effective operations;

·        Ability to interact and produce results with employees, supervisors,  and customers.
