Position Overview:

 

Commonwealth's Dispatchers serve as transportation ambassadors for our organization.  Their primary function is to schedule, dispatch and track our fleet of vehicles and Chauffeurs in an expedient, efficient, accurate manner that supports and ensures Commonwealth's exceptional service delivery standards are met while adhering to established departmental protocols.  All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Commonwealth policies, practices, and procedures. 


Specific Job Functions:  


  • Schedules job assignments and maintains an accurate record of assigned limousine activities through Livery.
  • Effectively communicates through radios and telephones to Chauffeurs, Greet and Fleet staff, Clients, and other Commonwealth employees to ensure contact status and location.
  • Ensures assigned Chauffeurs and Greeters meet Commonwealth quality control standards and confirms assigned vehicles meet Commonwealth safety and operational standards.
  • Projects a friendly, professional, and cordial demeanor to all potential and existing Clients, Chauffeurs, Greeters and Fleet staff and other co-workers.  Professionalism is absolutely critical to this function. 
  • Responds and acts efficiently and professionally to resolve Client concerns and notifies management of issues beyond Dispatcher's scope of responsibility. 
  • Documents, tracks and communicates all incidents.   
  • Answers multiple phone lines/radios, taking and inputting reservations, scheduling and dispatching Chauffeurs, Greeters, tracking transports, maintain Chauffeur and Greeter rotations, tracking airline flights, clearing transports, effective radio communication.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality regarding Commonwealth clients and their activities.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

 


Qualifications:



  • Four (4) years experience in a dispatch or call center environment, related transportation dispatch position required.
  • Outstanding professional communications skills.  Second language skills preferred.
  • Impeccable knowledge of NYC and New Jersey (roadways as well as general information)
  • Outstanding reliability and is regarded as having the highest ethical standardsNo exceptions.  
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties utilizing extreme care, safety and accuracy while focusing energy on providing a high level of client service with acute attention to detail.
  • Must possess the ability to make decisions and resolve complaints and problems in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to multi-task in a variety of circumstances.
  • Can be a part of and enhance team performance.
  • Experience with Livery preferred.  Profiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.  
  • Ability to communicate effectively with ALL colleagues.
  • Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment while always maintaining composure.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude and ability to deal effectively with clients, management, employees and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Maintain manual dexterity to access computer via computer keyboard and operate office equipment, such as telephones, copiers, fax machine, etc.
  • Able to access all areas of the facility and travel off property if required when representing Commonwealth. 
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Must have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to Commonwealth standards.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
