Distribution Center Manager

About the Job

The Distribution Center Manager's primary responsibility is to coordinate the daily activities of his/her direct reports to achieve the Company's shipping and receiving objectives.  This person is responsible for full compliance with all ISO procedures that apply to his/her operation, including all training requirements for his/her direct reports.  The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for completing all additional tasks assigned by the Director of Logistics.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY:

•Manage all carrier related issues (bad equipment, deliveries, additional trailer requirements, etc.) on a daily basis
•Manage the work of direct reports to accomplish the daily shipping objectives.
•Responsible to maintain an accurate inventory (system balance = physical balance)
•Responsible for compliance with the applicable ISO procedures.  All direct reports trained and all training documentation complete and properly maintained.
•Manage direct reports.  Annual performance reviews completed in a timely manner.  As required, administer the progressive discipline program.  Administer all Company personnel programs.
•Serve as primary contact/person responsible in addressing facility maintenance issues (computer, telephone, lighting, electrical, etc.)
•Work with other departments to met the needs of our internal and external customers.
•Manage the warehouse replenishment program (both inbound and outbound)
•Manage the process to receive in finished goods (both internally produced and vended).
•Manage facility expenditures to comply with cost center budget.
•Monitor shipping errors.  As appropriate, take corrective action to terminate poor practices
•Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Logistics   

REQUIRED TRAINING:  The Distribution Center Manager shall be trained in all functions of the Company's primary business system that are applicable to this position.  He/she shall be trained on all of the applicable ISO procedures.  Also, this person shall be trained on all FDA guidelines concerning the storage and distribution of the Company's products.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:  The Director Center Manager must have a high school diploma.  A two or four-year degree in business or a business related field is preferred, but not required.  Work experience shall include a minimum of two years experience in managing a distribution center.  Previous supervisory experience is mandatory.
