Distribution Industrial Engineer


 


A leader in the consumer products industry is seeking an Industrial Engineer with warehouse and distribution experience.  We are seeking a professional and high-energy individual with excellent project management skills to initiate and implement cost savings programs for our manufacturing and distributing facility in Lumberton, NC.  Reporting to the VP of Warehousing and Logistics, this position analyzes the warehouse facilities and equipment and designs, plans, lays out and implements programs to establish the most efficient flow of work by integrating systems of people, material, and information.


 






ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


 


§         Participate in the implementation and maintenance of WMS (HighJump)


§         Participate in the sourcing, implementation, and maintenance of gain sharing program for the Outbound and Inbound Departments


§         Work with departmental management to optimize, monitor, and improve slotting process


§         Implement procedures, processes, and controls to maintain the standard carton and pallet quantities of all sku’s;  monitor and maintain all product and carton dimensions and appropriate cubes; work with manufacturing to monitor and improve standard carton quantities and shipping cartons; work with Transportation to identify, monitor, and maintain the correct freight classifications


§         Analyze, design, plan, lay out, and implement warehouse material handling, racking, picking, and shipping solutions


§         Establish, monitor, and maintain time standards for all processes being conducted in both Inbound and Outbound warehouses


§         Establish and monitor the proper documentation/SOP’s for all applications being performed in the Outbound and Inbound Warehouses;  In conjunction with warehouse management and personnel, establish and monitor standard SOP’s for each customer and there requirements


§         Coordinate with outside vendors on the purchase and operation of distribution equipment


§         Perform duties in compliance with company policies and procedures


§         Promote a safe and healthy work environment on all company property to achieve the best working conditions for all employees and visitors


§         Maintain regular and predictable attendance


§         Perform other assignments as requested or as business needs require


 


 


 


 


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


 


§         Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering with 1 to 5 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience


§         Experience using Cape Systems, HighJump WMS, JDE, Kronos, and Share Point is highly desired and/or beneficial


§         Experience in Time and Motion Studies


§         Strong analytical and problem solving skills


§         Computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook


§         Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills


§         Ability to interface with all levels of management


§         Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and achieve effective time management
