Overview:


Supervise the distribution and transportation of inbound and outbound company and customer shipments.  Ensure the most economical rates and routing for all shipments, as well as the physical movement of company and customer freight in the world marketplace.  Responsible for finished goods warehouse.


Responsibilities:


• Responsible for domestic and international shipment goals as established by each group operations manager.


• Plan, develop, and implement handling methods and logistical distribution techniques that are cost effective and efficient.


• Coordinate and plan the packaging, labeling, and shipment preservation needs of all product offerings.


• Establish, supervise and coordinate policies that direct picking and packing and transportation methods.


• Establish planning methods and strategies that meet business changes within the Distribution Center.


• Supervise the Disctribution Center warehouse which involves storage, security, inventory tracking, packaging and shipping, for all Service Equipment Group (SEG) products as well as shipments from other groups.


• Responsible for the packaging of hazardous materials in compliance with appropriate regulations, both domestically and internationally.


• Ensure compliance to all appropriate rules and regulations including U.S. Dept. of Commerce export practices, military and government procedures, domestic and foreign import and export laws, etc.


 


Qualifications:


Extensive knowledge of modern shipping, transportation and traffic methods, sales procedures, etc.  Knowledge of rules and regulations for both domestic and international shipments including hazardous materials.  Understanding of company’s operating systems (i.e., Production, Accounting, TIS, Personnel, COS, Focus, etc.).  Demonstrated experience in supervising employees and a budget.


Associate’s degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred with a minimum of 4 years general distribution experience, 3 years traffic management experience, and 2 years supervisory experience, or a combination of education and experience.
