Our 40+ year old client is a highly respected manufacturer of reliable, functional, and innovative agricultural equipment.
We are seeking a District Sales Manager who can play a pivotal role in developing new and managing existing distribution channels and dealers in lucrative, rapidly growing geographic territories (NE, ND, SD, Western IA and MN, WI, Northern IA).
Basic qualifications for the position include:
· Successful background selling agricultural or capital equipment through dealer/distributor channels for 5+ years
· (IF YOU HAVE NOT SOLD AGRICULTURAL EQUIPMENT BUT HAVE SOLD CAPITAL EQUIPMENT; THEN YOU MUST ALSO HAVE GROWN UP WORKING ON A FARM AND OPERATING A VARIETY OF FARM EQUIPMENT).
· Distribution channel development experience – the ability to contact, qualify, recruit, and provide support to new and existing equipment distributors, dealers, and rental venues.
· Channel management skills – Hands-on training & support experience with dealer/distributors in such areas as effective equipment sales techniques (including conducting joint sales calls to end users), inventory management, and equipment operations is a big plus.
· The ability to demonstrate and clearly describe the benefits and operating characteristics of quality equipment.
· The ability to work in a high visibility position, to interface closely with top management in your own as well as your customers’ companies.
· Excellent communications skills along with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
· A 4-year degree is required
· A stable record of employment is required
Overnight travel throughout a multi-state region is required; travel expenses, including mileage, are paid by the company.
