Division Director, Human Resources

Job Summary:


The Division Director of Human Resources supports the General Manager and provides leadership and direction to the Human Resources organization that supports the new Region 1. This Region will include campuses in California, Texas, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Illinois. The position is responsible for delivering Human Resources strategy, programs and initiatives tied to strategic business goals to ensure superior organizational performance. It ensures administration of policies related to benefits, employee relations, employment, payroll and training. Supervision of general, administrative and reception support is also included.


General Duties:



  • Partnering with the Region 1 General Manager, develops an overall strategy for the broader business organization from a people perspective considering current, anticipated and potential future business challenges.

  • Directs, develops and mentors the HR Generalists supporting their areas of responsibility. This includes budgetary responsibilities and delivery of forward thinking strategic opportunities.

  • Designs, implements and aligns training programs focused on achieving superior strategic organizational performance across the campuses in the Division. This includes but is not limited to training in workforce planning/selection, retention and incentive plans, performance appraisals, succession planning, employee relations, safety and sexual harassment.

  • Through thorough understanding of the business unit operations, develops financial metrics/drivers/trends and is able to present the impact (ROI) of HR strategies/programs/services. This includes but is not limited to turnover trends and employee relations trends.

  • Partners with management in dealing with employee separations, terminations and resolving employee relations issues. Ensures proper resolution is reached and appropriate documentation procedures are utilized.

  • Ensures administration of and compliance with all policies and record-keeping related to payroll, employee benefits, record keeping, compensation programs, investigations, and other areas of government compliance.

  • Manages recruitment of employees and ensures smooth on-boarding and orientation to achieve company goals. Acting in the role of “change agent”, promotes innovation, continual improvement and action orientation.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, HR or a related field from an accredited university.

  • Graduate study or professional development in HR management or organizational development is desirable.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a corporate or business unit HR role with a history of providing HR solutions to business issues, some of which was across distributed business locations. At least three years will have been in a management capacity.

  • Expert knowledge of HR functions (employee relations, staffing, compensation, benefits delivery, etc.) and the legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting these areas of human resources.

  • Ability to build human capacity (Skills and Leadership Development)

  • Broad business experience from an operating and management perspective

  • Ability/willingness to travel up to 40% of the time across the United States
