Drafting / Engineering Manager – Commercial Millwork

Our Client, a 25 year old Commercial Cabinet and Architectural Millwork Manufacturer has asked us to assist them in adding a dynamic individual to their team in the role of Engineering Manager. Our Client provides quality products and installation services throughout the United States, working primarily with General Contractors. Their products are showcased in Hospitals, Clinics, Assisted Living Centers, Casinos, Multiple Housing, Office Build-outs, Retailers, and Institutional Environments.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION YOU MUST HAVE PRIOR DRAFTING DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT, ENGINEERING, MICROVELLUM, AND AUTOCAD EXPERIENCE!

Requirements:

* Must have experience working with AutoCad, Microvellum, Ardis or other Industry
   related Software.
* University Degree
* Management experience directly related to the Commercial Cabinetry or Architectural
   Millwork Industry, preferably within a Drafting or Engineering Dept.
* Familiarity with AWI Standards is preferable

Responsibilities:

* Ability to create detailed Shop Drawings from Architectural Blueprints while
   understanding Shop Construction Techniques.
* Ability to perform Material Take-offs and create Requisitions accurately for optimal
   Levels of Yield.
* Work closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Production and Sales Staff to
   understand initial Job Requirements, manage Change Orders and adds and provide a

   clearly defined Path of Construction.
* This will be a “hands on” position and will require someone who will be able to
   perform the above tasks in addition to teaching the Team our Systems.
* The right individual will spend the majority of their time Managing, reviewing Staff
   progress, teaching new Methods, researching new Systems, recommending paths of
   improvement, checking the work of others, discipline of Department Personnel and
   working closely with Shop Supervision to eliminate future mistakes.
* This is an extremely challenging Position that will require someone looking to make a
   difference. The rewards are few, the criticism is high and the pace is fast.
