Chester R. England began hauling potatoes in northern Utah and southern Idaho in 1920. The consummate entrepreneur, he found innovative ways to move food and freight throughout the Intermountain West in the days where paved roads and trucking were still very new ideas.

Joined later by his sons Gene and Bill, C.R. England became the first carrier to offer 72 hour coast to coast refrigerated food delivery. In the days before the interstate system, this was unheard of.

Today, after having grown to a $1 billion global transportation company, CR England now operates in North America, China and beyond.


Driver Manager

CR England, one of the largest trucking companies, is looking for professional, motivated individuals to fill the position of Driver Manager in our Dedicated Operations Division in Sterling, IL. 

 

This position is responsible for:

  • The profitability and operation of a fleet of approximately 20 trucks.
  • Maintaining high levels of on-time pickup and delivery
  • Driver retention, safety, and production.
  • This position is equivalent to running your own small business
    Requirements

    The ideal candidate:

     

    • will have at least 2 years supervisory experience
    • excellent communication and leadership skills,
    • computer proficiency with AS400 and Microsoft Office
    • the ability to manage several things at once.
    • A college degree is a plus
    • and a background in management preferred.
