The Opportunity

EDI Lead Business Analyst


Kforce is working with a client in the Greater Philadelphia, PA area on a contract to permanent EDI Lead Business Analyst job opportunity.

Primary purpose of the EDI Lead Business Analyst is to serve as a liaison between business groups, functional and technical teams to gather and translate business requirements into conceptual design. Partners with internal stakeholders to plan and test EDI solutions to ensure that solutions meet quality standards. Coordinates the development, implementation and operation of E-commerce (B2B EDI) and the interfaces with business systems. Will be responsible for the corporate compliance of EDI solutions that comply with Sarbanes Oxley and the emerging Payment Credit Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).

Essential Functions:

  • Establish billing requirements for centrally managed customers that create the best match of customer process to capabilities by guiding and coordinating cross-functional teams

  • Management of EDI technical team to ensure delivery of current and new customer EDI processes

  • Partners with business teams to elicit, analyze, translate, and document business requirements

  • Developing user acceptance testing strategies in conjunction with end users

  • Management of defects from identification, tracking to resolution

  • Ensure the effective processing of business data by working with the technical team to design and develop business systems interfaces required to support the process

  • Ensure the accurate and compatible exchange of business data by designing and providing functional requirements for the mapping of data to the appropriate transactions and versions

  • Ensure the accurate and compatible exchange of business data by testing the solutions provided by the technical team

  • Provide technical consulting to management on electronic business transactions by conducting research in the latest technology, standards and best practices in the industry


  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Information Technology

  • 7 - 10 years of progressive, hands-on IT experience that includes the development and support of EDI solutions

  • Ability to support multiple concurrent projects and meet timelines

  • Knowledge of EDI standards, practices, and mapping software (Seeburger)

  • Knowledge of EDI document standards 810, 820, 850, 852, and others

  • Knowledge of SAP Order to Cash including interface tools (XI/PI/IDOC)

  • Knowledge of Scan Based Trading business processes and technology

  • Experience in business systems analysis, SAP EDI and the order to cash processes

  • Experience supporting Financial Systems applications

  • Extensive knowledge of billing and receivables systems and processes

  • Outstanding technology leader with the ability to architect and develop EDI solutions

  • Excellent oral communications skills and customer relations skills; position works extensively with outside customers and vendors

Key Characteristics:

  • Experience with developing EDI solutions. Knowledge of business process (such as billing and receivables), good communication skills (communicating with technical team and end users), strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently

  • 2 E-commerce Analysts would be reporting to this role. We are looking for the incumbent to possess team management skills, but this role will ultimately transition from a managerial role to an individual contributor role after 9-12 months
