electrical Engineer/Project Engineer

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Responsible for study, design, specification and services related to electrical and electronic systems including power generation, transmission and distribution, power systems performance and control, cabling and wiring, lighting, motor control centers, communications systems, cathodic protection, grounding lightning protection, heat tracing, etc. for military installations. Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. Assist in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents.

Prepare plans, specifications, and estimates, and contract documents.  Resolve engineering issues and develop work break down structures.  Analyze data and perform calculations.   Evaluate subcontractor bid scope (technical evaluations) and work with outside engineering firms to develop designs.  Perform site inspections, and support construction in the field, as well as from the home office.

Position is contingent upon award of contract(s), and may be based in either the Middle East or North Africa.

REQUIREMENTS

·          5 – 10 years of related experience in design, design management, construction, airfield lighting, power generation and distribution, and vertical design/construction

·          Active Professional Engineer (PE) license

·          Proficiency utilizing electrical design applications, ie. AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.

·          Previous experience supporting federal government or military projects preferred

·          United States Air Force (USAF) Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment  (AFCEE) experience desirable

·          Active Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance a plus
