EMC Networker - Applications Support Lead and/or System Analyst Lead:

Contract to Hire or Permanent Placement

Responsibilities/Day to Day Duties:

·         Supervise a 24/7 team responsible for managing and supporting central UNIX applications; (HP, AIX and Linux).

·         Lead is 80% management and 20% Technical Lead – will lead a team of 6+, 500+ client servers, back up and restoring of Applications

·         This job will work with open systems and Z/Os (mainframe) environments.

·         Support and maintain all current and future media requirements and changes.

·         Ensure successful backup status, perform required data restores, and monitor daily backup schedules and tape allocation.

·         Maintain and monitor Z/Os disk allocation and tape utilization for all media including the VTS robotic library.

·         Ensure proper disaster recovery procedures are followed on all platforms and participate n scheduled DR tests with Recovery Services.

·         Provide technical support for the group as well as other groups as needed

·         Work with other departments in to assure timely resolutions for problems on supported systems

·         Work with team members to set development plans, perform reviews, and provide feedback

·         Coordinate projects and tasks to ensure everything is handled within timelines

·         Learn and perform technical tasks such as conversions and daily tasks

·         Support employees on technical questions or when issues arise

·         Support other groups questions or when issues arise

·         Documentation on issues & tasks

·         Technical experience developing  system support applications/tools, which include batch and on-line processing, monitoring performance, and data manipulation

·         Working knowledge in client server environment and TCP/IP networking

·         Experience with Oracle, Tuxedo, Websphere or Java would be a plus (but not required)

·         Experience with web technologies design/development and C programming language (reading or dubugging) is a plus (but not required)

Experience Desired:

·         Skills in order: EMC Networker (exposure to any or all versions 7.1 thru 7/4), UNIX, EMC AlphaStor, Mainframe, TCP/IP

·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral

·         Ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.

·         Experience with Mainframe Z/Os, EMC’s Networker backup application, and Unix systems.

·         Strong troubleshooting and problem analysis skills.

·         Educational Experience: Associates in computer science or equivalent work experience.

·         Must be self motivated and have the ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks/projects as well as keep management updated as to the status of projects

·         Meet project deadlines per project plan

·         Ability to gather requirements, analysis, functional/technical design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation

·         Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills

·         Minimum of 2 years of supervision experience for Senior role

·         5+ years of technical experience developing system support application/tools, which include batch and on-line processing, monitoring performance, and data manipulation
