Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Designing for manufacturability, inspectibility, and optimum cost. Generating prototype models to evaluate new design concepts. Coordinating product evaluation with surgeons. Generating comprehensive protocols for testing/analyzing the product. Generating design assurance documentation for the project. Active participation in development meetings with surgeons and key Zimmer personnel. Helping to identify customer requirements for a new product. Establishing a process method which meets performance and quality requirements.




Job Summary
Responsible for the design, development, and processing of implants and instruments under the direction of a project leader or manager.

Expected Areas of Competence (KSA's)
Ability to effectively work within a team to expedite completion of critical project tasks with other functional groups. Good communication, teamwork and organizational skills are essential.

Education/Experience Requirements
B.S. in mechanical engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with drafting standards and geometric differences and tolerancing. Microsoft Office Suite and Project. An understanding of human physiology and joint mechanics is required.
