The primary role of the Site Engineering: Taking the lead role in the innovation roll-out as technical expert, assessing ideas for feasibility, turning ideas into commercial process, including concept creation, detailed design, procurement of capital funding, equipment specification and purchase, installation, and working hand in hand with Manufacturing, Category TIMQ engineers, and other Corporate departments to commission successfully. This will include fully agreeing up front to project deliverables and completion of LMP (Launch Monitoring Plan). Lead the VIP function in the Plant to deliver cost savings to the business through the identification, formulation, submittal and delivery of cost savings projects. Plan, lead and deliver all plant capital projects directed at expansion, capacity increases, equipment upgrades, and infrastructure improvements, as directed by the business. To fully engage with Plant in the continuous improvement process. II. Maintaining a thorough knowledge of all appropriate innovation plans, and plant processes, in order to assess the best way to implement the innovation in a particular plant. Owner of full Project Management responsibility and OTIF delivery. • Demonstrate a clear financial grasp of the economics of manufacturing especially as it relates to new product innovation and VIP. Conduct objective analysis where conclusions will be the basis for key project decisions. • Exhibit strong project management skills in the areas of planning, phasing, budgeting, motivating, team leadership, project execution, vendor management, and capital management. Must fully control Capex spending for the plant. • Demonstrate an ability to analyze and generate innovative solutions to a wide variety of complex situations. These range from product and process design to new system introduction and the management of capital budgets. • Communicate clearly and professionally to both technical and non-technical team members through the use of verbal and written tools, keeping both plant and Corporate fully apprised of project plans, status, and issues. • Ability to become HAZWOPER certified, be an emergency response member and have knowledge of the EAP (emergency Action Plan). • Applies TPM framework, tools and techniques across extended supply chain. • Develop and maintain a management of change on each and every change we make in the factory per line. • Maintain and Manage the Contractor Packet, training of contractors and safety audits of contractors per project. • Create purchase orders in Ariba and track CAPEX spend per quarter • Create Capital authorization request (CAR) for projects in house III.Challenges Travel possibly required, depending upon workload in factories. Job could include some project work at another ice cream factory. Deliver project objectives to the customer on-time, in full and within budget, while remaining adaptable and flexible to constantly changing environment and priorities Authoritative leader for all technical aspects of the ice cream business. Lead multi-disciplinary project teams effectively. Develop and maintain working relationships with a wide range of plant, corporate, wider Unilever and external contacts. Exhibit sound professional interpersonal skills. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of processes and equipment in ice cream plants, as well as current best proven practice in use within the plants. Much of your time is spent on the computer adding purchase orders into the ARIBA system, receiving into Ariba system and keeping track of quarterly spend for CAPE. IV. Skills & Competencies Knowledge Education & Training: BS in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical) from accredited 4 year college. Ammonia Refrigeration experience is a plus. Experience, three to five years of FMCG manufacturing. Strong grounding in food, preferably dairy. Knowledge of process design, ammonia systems and refrigeration would be an advantage, along with HAZOP, Environmental, Statistical Process Control, Project Management, Process Control Automation, familiar with CAD. VI: Skills Delivering Innovation Manages the interface and sign off of the Innovation Process (IPM) between and Global Category. Developing and Implementing Category Technology Strategy Develops and implements technology strategy in line with category strategy, e.g. equipment selection, mater plan development, level of automation, make or buy decisions. 3.3 Asset Investment(Facilities design & Construction)Understands Early Management Principles and applies EEM techniques including relevant handover documents.
