Description

• Thorough understanding of database-driven report design, data modeling and data mining required.
• 3+ year's experience developing solutions with both Business Objects (Crystal) and MS Reporting Services (MSRS) within the Eclipsys SCM environment
• Developing reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Service (MSRS) and Business Object (Crystal Report Writer)
• Report writing best practices (optimization, use of joins and sub-queries)
• SQL stored procedures and SQL queries
• Experience with converting from Crystal (.rpt) reports to MS (.rdl) reporting
• Use of complex expressions to calculate, group, filter, parameterize, optimize and format contents of reports
• Understanding of healthcare practices, data and reporting requirements
• Strong communications skills to complement interaction with remote clients and report developers
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Meets with customers (end-users), analyze business and data requirements for reporting, translating requirements into data modeling for report content
• Gathers requirements and provide thorough turnover documentation
• Works effectively with remote development teams to document, develop, and test work product
• Ability to accurately estimate report development work effort

• Supports technical design activities related to application software, data, databases, packaged solutions and infrastructure components (Technical).
• Designs, develops and distributes technical reusable components (Technical).
• Participates in the selection, acquisition, configuration and troubleshooting of packaged solutions and technical infrastructure components (Technical).
• Contributes to applying the Catalyst framework, in role played, to determine the methodological steps that are appropriate for an engagement (Methodology).
• Leads a team of 3-5 company resources, in area of expertise, to conclusion of a project phase (Management).
• Establishes credibility at all levels with clients and builds problem-solving partnerships with clients and colleagues (Relationship Management).
• Understands the sales process, its information and support requirements, and assists business developers in identifying or qualifying leads (Leverage).
• Assists with gap analyses highlighting current state, future state, client needs, best practices and competition (Business).
  

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or related field preferred
• Three or more years of experience in technical analysis and design, preferably within a consulting environment
• Experience working with CSC Catalyst and/or equivalent client-mandated methodology
• Experience working with software, hardware, data and testing standards
• Experience working with delivery assurance principles and procedures

• One to two years of additional relevant experience in a particular technical specialty area
• Strong analysis and design skills
• Good communication skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment
• Ability to devise creative technical solutions
• Ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal confidently with complex technical problems
• Willingness to travel
