Ecommerce Application Support Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Ecommerce Application Support Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the successful operation of ecommerce applications in a high availability web delivery environment while working closely with software development and other teams to facilitate new releases, technical improvements and operational implementation processes. This is a “hands on” role and in addition to some supervisory responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Maintains operating environment for the application Infrastructure services platform.

·         Proactive management and monitoring of the application infrastructure

·         Controls change management activities for all data center components to include scheduling and performing maintenance window system changes, personnel management, infrastructure patches / fixes, customer notification and change management process development and adherence.

·          Responsible for organizing, creation and maintenance of the computer operations documentation.

·         Supports higher levels of management in data center planning and expansion to include selection of geographically dispersed locations, redundancy solutions, load-balancing technology and data replication.

·          Works in conjunction with internal business units to coordinate all customer requests and problem reports to closure.

·         Creation of IT processes or providing input to process improvement projects required

·         Responsible for developing and rolling out IT processes and methodology

·         Development, implementation, and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Service Level Agreements (SLA)

·         Works with internal customers and other IT members to create internal SLA’s

·         Must be able to give clear direction and delegate accountability across the team

·         Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating and developing staff in all areas of responsibility as well as managing staff performance both negative and positive.

·         Design and maintain DR plans for identified systems

·         Other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Minimum 8 years related professional experience, including 5+ years progressive responsibility for management of IT operations functions within an ecommerce or web hosting environment, including experience in managing and directing a highly skilled engineering team.

·         Must have expert knowledge of ecommerce or website hosting, DNS, CDN and or related technologies. 

·         Must have expert knowledge of database architectures, .NET application servers, IIS Web Servers and Internet Security (PCI experience a plus).

·         Must be highly skilled with automated code deployment (build management) technologies and techniques.

·         Must be highly skilled with application monitoring technologies and techniques.

·         Ability to instill confidence in clients; able to solve their problems and issues while keeping the goals of IT, the project and OT in mind

·         Knowledge of Microsoft Web development tools and technology a plus.

·         Experience with web based technologies to include: load balancing, IIS web server farms and other related technologies.

·         Experience with Windows Server, Network and SAN technologies, including high availability operations, product selection and high-level architecture.

·         Experience in resource management and reporting.   This will include Expense and Capital budgets, system and staff planning.

·         Formal project management training a plus.

·         Experience with ITIL or other established Information Technology methodology required

·         B.S. degree in computer science, engineering or related field preferred
