Education Specialist - Graduate Medical Education

The Education Specialist will provide ongoing educational consulting and other support to the Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs and their directors with the objective of assessing, developing, and updating competency-focused curricula, teaching tools and methods, and systems for regular evaluation and feedback.  The specialist will work in collaboration with the Program Director to prioritize the needs of each program and develop an action plan, assist with the expansion, enhancement and updating of a core curriculum (i.e. content applicable across sub/specialties) and work  in partnership with the GME staff in the ongoing education and the development of an orientation/training program for new Program Directors.



  • Ph.D. in education or Ed.D.

  • Experience in developing customized teaching curricula, tools and systems preferably in medical education.  Experience in providing educational consulting.

  • Expertise in education, preferably with experience in medical education, with an emphasis in the areas of curriculum development and implementation.

  • Ability to draw information from multiple sources, to evaluate different program approaches and quality, and to develop proposals and recommendations.

  • Ability to take a leadership role in understanding and evaluating program curricula and to develop a comprehensive assessment and set of recommendations.

  • Skill in program development.

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently.
