Electrical Assembler

Purpose:

To assemble and/or install electrical wiring and components of a passenger railcar that supports the organization’s production goals and objectives while meeting and/or exceeding customer expectations

Essential Duties:

·         Consistently demonstrate ability to read and/or interpret electrical drawing(s), schematic(s) and technical guidance(s)

·         Install and dress wire by stripping, crimping and terminating both low-voltage and high-voltage through various tools and methods

·         Wire electrical cabinets (inside car, outside car and under car in tight spaces)

·         Install electrical equipment by various fastening methods

·         Waterproof wire by various methods

·         Proficient use of various electric and hydraulic tools

·         Interface with other team members productively and share information as required

·         Consistently demonstrate understanding of core assembly methods

·         Comply with all regulatory compliances/standards such as FRA, OSHA, EPA, ADAAA etc.

·         Follow all company policies, procedures and safety rules

·         Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition

·         Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

·         High School Diploma/GED

·         3 to 5 years of electrical  experience preferred

·         Ability to read and interpret basic technical specifications for electrical components and design

·         Ability to work overhead and in tight spaces for extended periods of time

·         Ability to use hand tools proficiently, such as:  zip ties, heat gun, screw driver, ratchet, spender, wire cutters, wire crimper, wire striper, solder, drill, tap, grinder, welder, caulking gun, air tools, electrical tools and hydraulic tools
