Johnson Controls is searching for an energetic and highly creative entry to mid-level level electrical engineer for our Fire Suppression Products, Innovation and New Ventures team located at the R&D facility in Cranston, RI.

In this role you will be responsible for designing electronic circuits analog & digital hardware for new, cutting edge product concepts including: electronically controlled sprinkler systems, robotic firefighting systems, sensors, IoT devices, etc. 


How you will do it

•Read, design, and review electrical schematics

•Use electrical schematics to implement circuitry

•Perform printed circuit board (PCB) layout and design related printed circuit assemblies (PCAs)

•Troubleshoot electrical circuitry using various tools including a multimeter and oscilloscope

•Perform basic engineering calculations needed for electrical design

•Work on analog and digital design and analysis

•Work on microcontroller and embedded system design

•Work in a team environment to generate creative solutions to product needs

What you will need


•Undergraduate Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

•1-3 years of related work experience in an engineering environment

•Basic understanding of various electrical components and how they can be applied to electrical design

•Basic knowledge of programming embedded devices, with some applied experience

•Strong problem solving and analytics skills

•Ability to think creatively to solve complex problems

•Experience with electronic CAD is desired
