Job Description:

ICx Tactical Platforms is seeking an Electrical Engineer to be responsible for the design and development of electrical systems and/or components to high specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality, as well as sustainability. The engineer will be involved in projects from the concept and detail of the design through to implementation, testing, and handover. The engineer will work in a multi-disciplinary project team, including engineers from other disciplines, as well as marketing and sales staff, manufacturing personnel, technicians, and customer service personnel and will possess the technical knowledge as well as the ability to project manage and multitask. Additional attributes, such as team leadership skills and commercial awareness, are required for career progression. The ideal candidate will demonstrate competency in decision-making, flexibility, planning and organizing, initiative, and interpersonal skills. 

Reports To: Engineer Manager

Responsibilities:

·         Identifying customer requirements

·         Designing electrical systems and products

·         Reading design specifications and technical drawings

·         Specifying components, wire and connector sizing

·         Generating AC and DC electrical schematics (2D drawings)

·         Maintain (electronic) files of schematics and diagrams

·         Train manufacturing employees

·         Process Engineering Change Notices (ECN) - electrical

·         Create bill of materials

·         Validation of schematics and circuit diagrams

·         Researching suitable solutions and estimating costs & timelines

·         Creating models and/or prototypes of products

·         Working with others on the design team

·         Working with clients and contractors

·         Designing test plans and conducting test

·         Recording, analyzing, and interpreting test data

·         Proposing modifications and retesting products

·         Qualifying the final product and/or system

·         Servicing and maintaining equipment

·         Preparing product documentation, writing reports, and giving presentations

·         Monitoring a product in use, so as to improve on future design

Requirements:

·         Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering as minimum

·         Min 5 years experience (in any industry)

·         Strong electrical experience in AC/DC

·         Experience in software, applications, or consulting  (as opposed to designing for manufacturing)

Preferred:

·         Experience in designing electrical/electronic components

·         Millwork or cabinetry work would be a plus

·         2D 3D drawing experience

·         Experience with IPC & MIL standards
