The successful candidate will:
Work with the design team and optimize a variety of electronic products, both existing and in development that support military operations.
Be involved in all phases of new product development; from conceptual design, market research, development, and Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) and documentation.
Manage product transitions from LRIP to large-scale production.
Work within development teams ensuring designs are producible, efficiently translated to production, and life-cycle supportable.
Insure that products meet or exceed all applicable quality and environmental standards.
Responsibilities:
Designs new products and services and makes improvements to existing products and services. Participates in evaluating products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability. Works with other members of the engineering staff to ensure that production is completed in a timely manner. Determines feasibility of designs considering costs, time limitation, planning and other technical and economic factors. Conducts engineering studies on design for products, associated and subsystems components, and structures. Analyzes engineering proposals, process requirements and related technical data pertaining to design. Applies engineering principles in designing, developing or modifying. Conducts analytical studies on engineering proposals to develop design for products and services. Analyzes data to determine feasibility of product and service proposals. Confers with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop design. Assists clients in all areas of technical project management including identification of needs and technologies for adaptation, identification of solutions, prioritization of efforts and technical management of execution. Provides engineering support for Field Service Engineers.
Qualifications:
BS in Engineering (EE preferred), MS desired.
At least 10 years experience in related product engineering.
Previous experience with military and/or aerospace products.
In-depth knowledge of printed circuit boards, circuit card and electronic assembly, hardware packaging, transitioning from EDP to a marketable product.
Experience in designing to Military Standards and in working in an ISO 9001 or AS 9100 operation.
Demonstrated excellent engineering design and support skills including PCB and system level design, test, troubleshooting, and documentation.
Demonstrated management skills including leadership, communication, interpersonal, analytical and project planning/management skills.
Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and support/manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Working knowledge of software and firmware development highly desired.
Demonstrated excellence with PC based tools (CAD, PCB design, PCB layout, Power Point, Excel, Word, Project, ect.).
U.S. citizen with U.S. government Secret security clearance (or have the ability to obtain).
