Electrical Engineer St. Helens, Oregon Armstrong Building Products Our ceilings plant in St. Helens, Oregon is currently seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to support manufacturing operations by working directly with internal and external resources to lead projects that involve the following technologies: - electro-mechanical registration systems,
- coordinated drive systems, and
- process control and measurement systems.
Additional responsibilities include - developing and implementing of process improvement & manufacturing capacity projects consistent with the organization's manufacturing control strategies and business objectives.
- full responsibility for the planning and execution of all phases of work assignment.
- initiating independent engineering studies that include complex technical or project management assignments.
- providing technical leadership for, or coordination of, a technical team which may involve several engineering disciplines whose combined efforts will add significantly to the Corporate profit-making capabilities.
The St. Helens's Plant, 1 of 6 Armstrong ceiling plants, employs approximately 150 people working on rotating shifts in the manufacture and shipment of acoustical ceiling tile to Armstrong's customers. Located amid the beauty and pageantry that only the Pacific Northwest can offer, St. Helens is within a short 25 mile drive to "The City of Roses", Portland, Oregon. More than 2 million people live in Portland and the surrounding metro area. The ideal candidate will have: - B.S. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing control systems, drives and programmable controllers.
- Project management and team facilitation skills required and a minimum 2-4 years experience. Technical experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading the installation of new systems and troubleshooting existing systems in a manufacturing environment is also necessary for success.
- Ability to work effectively with various groups, both technical and non-technical.
- Ability to self manage with little direct supervision.
