DESCRIPTION:

Seeking a highly-motivated Electrical Engineering Technician for our growing solutions-oriented Architectural and Industrial Group. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Being a team member providing support for the many electrical projects from kick-off thru construction phase; work with the architects, engineers, and scientists, as needed; produce drawings and specifications; check plans and specifications; perform field work/inspections, surveys, studies, and punch lists; attend project meetings; assist or perform systems start-up and commissioning; stay familiar with updates to codes, criteria, standards, and regulations; conduct technical research; and assist in the project closeout activities.  As a team member, the Electrical Engineering Technician will have the responsibilities to provide electrical project support to include: designing and drafting in AutoCAD, assisting in the design of lighting, power, fire alarm, control, and special systems; assist in short-circuit, coordination, ARC Flash studies, including developing electrical models in software and field data gathering; assist with design calculations using Excel; and specifications writing and editing.  Job site inspections will be required with travel being mostly in West Virginia.

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:

A two or four-year college degree in Electrical Engineering Design or related field of study preferred; two to four years of consulting experience; knowledge of electrical power supply distribution and control technology; knowledge of electrical analysis software, including power systems analysis, protection, and coordination, and lighting application analysis; good written and verbal communications skills; coordinate with project personnel and other disciplines; electrical design experience in industry, education, government, and commercial products; low voltage distribution and general power design experience; and a working knowledge of AutoCAD, Excel and data production and design using electrical software.  A valid driver’s license is required and you must be willing to participate in a USDOT Regulated Work Place Drug and Alcohol Program.
