Henkels & McCoy, Inc., one of the largest privately held international utility contracting firms, with offices in 80 cities and celebrating over 85 years of operations, with the reputation as one of the most reliable and innovative firms in engineering and construction, is currently seeking a Qualified Individual to provide high voltage electrical estimating and construction inspection services.  The position supports construction crews working in the Los Angeles County area to maintain and replace Electric Utility infrastructure.  The work entails wood utility pole replacement and High Voltage Electrical Circuit construction, including the replacement and maintenance of high voltage apparatus. 

•  Conduct unit take- off from Blue Prints.
• Field verify construction units for accuracy.
• Audit completed construction projects to ensure accurate invoicing.
• Review proposals, specifications and drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and develop estimate.
• Provide estimating input on complex projects.
• Ensure working documents and data are maintained to backup estimate.
• Work effectively within a matrix organization with many project stakeholders.
• Prepare reports as needed and directed by the Project Manager.
• Track awarded contracts as required - may include pricing extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring materials, etc.

• Excellent opportunity for recent graduate with a Business or Engineering degree. Electrical, Civil or Structural preferred.
• Excellent opportunity for an individual with Utility construction background and knowledge.
• Must have the ability to learn and understand electrical construction from working with blueprints and OJT.
• Experience using MS Excel and MS Word required. MS Project or PowerPoint software experience helpful.
• Must have excellent written and communication skills.
• Must be able to work with limited supervision.
• Electrical Estimating, Design or Construction Experience a plus.
• The position requires driving. Up to 50% in Los Angeles area. Vehicle provided.
