SUMMARY
This role is responsible for ensuring proper electrical functioning of plant equipment an machinery and to troubleshoot any electrical malfunctioning and complete appropriate repairs and maintenance. Additionally, strong industrial mechanical maintenance skills are required as work will be approximately 50% electrical and 50% mechanical.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and repair all existing electrical equipment in the production areas. Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment. Operate mechanical tasks as directed by supervisor. Prepare maintenance reports for management as directed. Maintain strict documentation of all plant electrical circuitry. Provide general lead electrician support install, adjust, and repair production equipment and special purpose machines as assigned. Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, lubricate, weld, cut, change parts and complete tasks as assigned. Weld and use cutting torch as required. Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and assembly schematic drawings. Perform general repairs to plant structures. Diagnose and test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with other facility personnel. Replace or repair faulty electrical components of machine. Observe mechanical devices and equipment and listen to sounds to determine proper functioning or identify causes of trouble. Calibrate and adjust all electrical/electronic equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications. Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools. Replace and install parts as needed. Do minor programming and maintenance for programmable logic controller based equipment. Lubricate and clean parts and equipment to insure proper operation. Maintain proper stock of tools and electrical parts to perform routine work. Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.

REQUIREMENTS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Associates degree or completion of Technical School and Apprenticeship program or equivalent in training, experience and education. Minimum of 5 years industrial experience in electrical support functions. Must have been employed as an electrician or electrician apprentice within the past 18 months. Must be knowledgeable of OSHA safety requirements, especially those related to electrical operations and components. Able to read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints. Working knowledge of three phase motors, motor controls, programmable controls, circuits, and National Electrical Code. Mechanical aptitude and ability are essential. Skilled in the use of hand and power tools. Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and diesel powered heavy equipment.
