Japs-Olson is looking for a maintenance Electrician to perform skilled electrical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems for machine, building & grounds. The position offers full benefits with competitive hourly pay based on skills and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with relevant codes and safety procedures.
- Troubleshoot complex PLC (Programmable Logic Control) systems
- Install transformers, control boards, electronic circuits, coils, circuit breakers, voltage regulators, switches, fuses, and related electrical equipment
- Troubleshoots, performs repairs, and tests a variety of equipment
- Inspects and performs cleaning and maintenance to electrical equipment
- Reviews and interprets electrical blueprints, plans, and schematics and determine material lists and costs
- Determine root cause failure analysis of equipment to understand how to prevent reoccurrence.
- Use electrical test instrumentation such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, meggers, timers and oscilloscopes.
Qualifications:
- Vocational certification in addition to at least 5 years of verifiable experience as a licensed Electrician
- Working knowledge of AC/DC circuits
- Excellent trouble-shooting skills (electrical control systems, PID control, AC/DC/Servo drives, PLC’s, pneumatics, and hydraulics)
- Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable laws, rules, and standards regulating electrical construction and installation practices
- Able to lift minimum of 50 lbs.
- Web processing and handling experience (printing, un-winders, winders, coating, laminating, ovens, steering, tension control, web guiding, etc.).
- Commitment to Lean Manufacturing and a continuous improvement environment
- Provides own common hand tools
