This position is for an Electro-mechanical engineer. This position requires knowledge of packaging electronics. Li-ion battery pack design experience a PLUS.
· The position requires the use of project planning software in planning/tracking development projects.
· The engineer needs to be able to integrate the needs of end users, Product Service, and Manufacturing to provide optimum designs that exceed competitive product.
· The engineer will be expected to evaluate, approve, and implement engineering change orders.
· The engineer will be expected to write test procedures, test plans and assist in the development of fixtures and test equipment.
· The engineer will be expected to approve FPIs and completed tests.
· The engineer needs a firm understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
· Teaching others in the group will be required.
· The engineer will be expected to perform technical feasibility analysis and presents results.
· The engineer will be expected to create working models of new product concepts.
· Position supports the electronics engineering team at the Corp R&D Headquarters, supporting Global Manufacturing
· Position requires some amount of international travel.
DESIRED BACKACKGROUND
· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, (Master’s, a plus)
· 3-8 years of engineering design experience.
· Experience working with Far East suppliers.
· Familiarity with Electronics PCBs, heat sinks, plastic injection molded parts, die cast parts, stamped parts, and the associated plating process.
· Experience with high volume consumer products manufacturing.
· Proficient in Catia Version 5 is a plus
· Strong Communication and presentation skills.
