Electronic Technician
Description:
Essential Functions include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.)
1. Inspects parts and prints to specifications by visual inspection and trouble shooting by testing the unit to determine the functionality of the unit.
2. Completes appropriate paperwork for the inspection process by writing out evaluations and entering the data into the computer.
3. Cleans and inspects unit, replaces parts as necessary and calibrates unit to proper specifications and functionally tests unit to proper specifications and creates a run sheet to document the readings.
4. Prepares work order and unit to be sent to inspection as per specifications.

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years previous electronics experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. An accredited certificate of completion or certification testing is preferred.
2. Ability to apply advanced math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
3. Ability to communicate verbally in one-on-one situations with management and co-workers, including the ability to speak simple sentences; listen to others without interrupting and get clarification when needed.
4. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, work orders, and memos. Ability to read and understand blue prints and inspection procedures. Ability to write simple correspondence.
5. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions and procedures furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
6. To perform this job successfully, and individual should be able to troubleshoot AC and DC circuitry.
7. To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to operate the equipment used in the department, including but not limited to test equipment.
8. Ability to interact in a positive and professional manner and to develop and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers and supervisor.
9. Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.
10. Exhibits dependability; including following instructions; responding to supervisor's direction; and taking responsibility for own actions.
11. Ability to take initiative, including asking for and offering help when needed; performs work independently without being prompted.
12. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities; use time efficiently; and work within deadlines.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to distinguish color for inspection of electronic components and wiring.
